Archaeology magazine called the ship "the most historically correct Columbus replica ever built." The Pinta was recently built in Brazil to accompany the Nina she is a larger version of the caravel. The Nina was built by hand and without the use of power tools. The ships will be docked and open for tours through April 14 at Regatta Pointe Marina, 1005 Riverside Drive, Palmetto. On Friday, the Pinta and Nina replicas of Christopher Columbus' ships will sail into Palmetto.
